Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Seeded (the “Service”), operated by Jad Elayan (“Seeded,” “we,” “us”). By creating a profile, continuing as a guest, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

1. What Seeded Does

Seeded helps students with little or no formal work experience identify resume-worthy experience, get matched with research and small-firm internship opportunities, and draft outreach materials using AI. Seeded is a discovery and drafting tool. We do not guarantee that you will be matched with, contacted by, interviewed by, or hired by any organization listed or generated through the Service, and we are not a party to any employment, internship, or research relationship you may pursue as a result of using it.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Seeded. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf where required by law. You must provide accurate information when creating a profile.

3. Accounts and Guest Sessions

You may use Seeded by creating an account (email/password or Google sign-in, where enabled) or as a guest, in which case your profile is tied to a private session stored in your browser. Guest profiles are not recoverable if you clear your cookies, switch browsers or devices, or if we are unable to restore data after a service interruption. You’re responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.

4. Subscriptions and Payment

  • Core features (profile creation and Experience Excavation) are free.
  • Research and internship matching requires a paid plan (monthly subscription or one-time lifetime purchase), billed through our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your full card details ourselves.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel anytime from your dashboard or by contacting us; you’ll retain access through the end of the current billing period.
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us within 7 days of a charge if you believe it was made in error.

5. Your Content

You retain ownership of everything you submit to Seeded: your profile information, resume file, excavation answers, and any generated bullets or drafts you edit (“Your Content”). By submitting Your Content, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit it, including to third-party AI and infrastructure providers described in our Privacy Policy, solely to provide and improve the Service to you. We do not sell Your Content, and we do not use your resume or answers to train third-party foundation models.

6. AI-Generated Content

Resume bullets, interview questions, match-percentage scores, tailored bullets, and outreach emails are generated with the help of AI and, where AI isn’t configured or available, deterministic templates. This content is a starting draft, not verified fact or professional advice. You are solely responsible for reviewing, fact-checking, and personalizing any AI-generated content before sending it to a real person, submitting it as part of a real application, or relying on it in any other way. Never state a skill, credential, or metric you don’t actually have.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to harass, spam, or impersonate someone;
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or overload the Service or its APIs;
  • Upload a resume or content that isn’t yours, or that contains malicious code; or
  • Misrepresent your qualifications when contacting an organization using Seeded-generated content.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

8. Third-Party Services and Listings

Some opportunities shown in Seeded are illustrative examples; others are live postings pulled from third-party job boards (currently Adzuna). We don’t control, verify, or endorse third-party listings, and clicking “Apply” takes you to that third party’s own site, subject to their own terms.

9. Intellectual Property

The Seeded name, logo, design, and underlying software are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms don’t grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.

10. Termination

You may stop using Seeded at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service, with notice where reasonably possible.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or that matches or AI-generated content will be error-free.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Seeded and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any outcome related to an opportunity, application, or interaction you pursue using content generated by the Service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless applicable consumer-protection law requires otherwise.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above, and continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
