Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Seeded collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to everyone who uses Seeded, whether you create an account or use a guest session.

1. Information We Collect

  • Profile information you submit at sign-up: university, major, target roles, graduation year, GPA, availability, and prior-experience description.
  • Resume file, if you choose to upload one (PDF or Word document, up to 3MB).
  • Excavation answers you provide in the AI interview, and the resume bullets generated from them.
  • Match and application data: opportunities you’re matched with, outreach emails drafted for you, and the application status you set (applied, interviewing, etc.).
  • Account credentials, if you sign up with email/password or Google, handled by our authentication provider (Supabase Auth).
  • Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and your plan type, never your full card number.
  • A guest session cookie, if you use Seeded without creating an account, so your profile stays associated with your browser.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

  • Generate your excavation questions, resume bullets, match scores, tailored bullets, and outreach email drafts;
  • Match you with relevant research and internship opportunities;
  • Process payments and manage your subscription;
  • Maintain your session so you don’t have to re-enter your profile; and
  • Diagnose bugs and improve the Service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show ads.

3. AI Processing

To generate questions, resume bullets, match scores, tailored bullets, and outreach emails, relevant parts of your profile, excavation answers, and opportunity details are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API for processing. We do not send your resume file itself to the AI provider, only the text fields you’ve entered. Anthropic processes this data under its own API terms and does not use API inputs to train its models by default.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We share the minimum data necessary with the following providers to operate Seeded:

  • Anthropic (Claude API): generates questions, bullets, match scores, and email drafts.
  • Supabase: hosts our database and, if enabled, handles account authentication.
  • Stripe: processes subscription and one-time payments.
  • Adzuna: supplies live internship listings; your major/target-role text is sent as a search query, not your full profile.
  • Vercel: hosts the application itself.

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data on our behalf.

5. Cookies

We use one essential cookie to identify your session (guest or authenticated); it’s not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. Disabling cookies will prevent Seeded from remembering your profile between visits.

6. Data Retention

We retain your profile, resume, and match data for as long as your account is active, so the Service keeps working the way you left it. If you stop using Seeded, your data remains stored until you request deletion (see below) or, for guest sessions, indefinitely tied to that browser’s cookie unless you clear it.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You can review and update your profile at any time from your dashboard. To request a copy of your data, request that we delete your account and associated data, or ask any question about how your information is used, email us at hello@seeded.app. We’ll respond and act on verified requests within a reasonable time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA) to access, correct, or restrict processing of your data.

8. Children’s Privacy

Seeded is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

9. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures (encrypted connections, access-controlled databases) to protect your information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password if you create an account.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above when we do, and material changes will be highlighted on this page.
